I was told that I would have to prove that someone had been negligent. What does this mean?

For a damages claim to be successful, it is necessary to prove somebody has been at fault. We will need to show that the other party has acted wrongfully and that their actions, or lack of them, have led to you sustaining a personal injury. Many cases are decided where victims are found to have been partially to blame, but large awards of compensation are given despite this. Even where you think that you may have been partly at fault, you should still take our advice about whether you can make a claim.
